YTV
Kids TV

YTV first aired in September of 1988, as a network for the children of Canada. At first the networks theme was to be as weird as possible, accompanied by weird programs including lots of green slime. This as the networks trade mark lasted for a while entertaining the Canadian Youth. Some years after its creation, it was bought out and adapted to fit a newer generation. The green slime and famous slogan “keep it weird” was cut and YTV adapted a lay out comparable to Nickelodeon in the US.  YTV.com was adopted and provides all the same fun and games as nick.com. The games at YTV still include many weird aspects and some educational fun as well. In addition the new ytv scraped the old programming blocks like Treehouse and The Breakfast Zone and implemented its new and improved programming block to individualize YTV’s programming for specific audiences.Blocks designed and intended for older children were created; Limbo and Bionix being some of them became popular for the YTV anime programs like ReBoot or InuYasha.  Other programming blocks like the Zone have become popular for the afterschool crowd and for the Saturday  schedule. YTV has incorporated many unique and controversial programs into their schedule over the years.
